PUNCT-ing

Abstract

PUNCT-ing is a collaborative creative project that performs various punctuation marks plus the space bar, which are found on a common English language computer keyboard. Each keyboard mark or performance video offers a gestural interpretation to the symbol's normative use and definition, in essence, to amplify what the punctuation mark denotes, to expand its application with regard to colonisation and, importantly, to bring what is abstract to corporeality. That reality is far from singular; this collaboration brings together two performance artists each with a different history, heritage, body, and orientation to language, space and writing that imbues the performance videos with a diversity akin to the book Performing Punctuation's purpose and concept.
