Description
This rauemi shares insights and reflections from kōrero with Māori practitioners and knowledge holders who draw upon kōrero tuku iho, and particularly the Maramataka, in their daily lives and their work with others. Some of those who shared their knowledge are recognised experts in their rohe, and others are relatively early in their journey. Each have their own interpretations and practices for how they engage with Taiao to make sense of the world. They all have their own unique ways of looking up, looking down, looking in and looking out. Nevertheless, their experiences and knowledge provide valuable insight into the contemporary use of Maramataka and tūpuna knowledge in reconnecting us with the environment and rediscovering the healing and well-being that result from this connection.
