| dc.description.abstract | This thesis consists of the pilot episode of a streaming platform series, which presents the story of four millennial friends in their early thirties, living in Lima, Peru, that receive the offer of selling the marmalade company they founded together. Having to make this decision, many unresolved issues between them will come to the surface. The story is narrated in two timelines: one, when they meet on the first day of university, become friends, and start their company; and the other one, fifteen years later, when they are trying to recover (and prevent their business from bankruptcy) from the strong hit COVID-19 meant for Peru. This pilot is complemented by an exegesis focused on the world of the story, a literature review (which includes dramedy and sitcom, characters development, COVID-19 in Peru, and the millennial generation), a comparative analysis with other pilots, and a self analysis of the development of the script. With all of these, I intend to answer the question of how a TV show that takes place in Peru might serve to explore the impact of the recent pandemic on the lives and relationships of four characters connected by a long friendship and a shared business venture. | |
