| dc.description.abstract | There is a growing amount of research focusing on the effectiveness of psychotherapy for psychosis but there is very little written about the experience of psychotherapy from a client’s perspective. This is despite researchers acknowledging the benefit of hearing directly from the client. The purpose of this dissertation is to investigate what people who have experienced psychosis have to say about their predominantly psychodynamic psychotherapy encounters. The research criteria focus exclusively on published first person accounts. It is hoped the research will provide a deeper understanding of what people who have experienced psychosis have found both helpful and unhelpful psychotherapeutically to better inform practice in this area. | en_NZ |
