This practice-led research focuses on the process of translating the experiences that occur within my imagination as I commute from my home to my studio. The translation of these experiences manifests into a series of abstract paintings. Through this process of translation, I explore how play, boredom, and daydreams can be used as tools to inform my painting by analysing how these states of mind alter my aesthetic sensibilities and affect relations. This is aided by critical theories like Deleuzo-Guattarian ‘Smooth and Striated Space’, Lefebvre’s ‘Rhythmanaylsis’ and Burnett’s ‘Art of Play.’en_NZ
