dc.description.abstract | The novel Pale Adolescence is a coming-of-age story in which Lily Kahika navigates her way through her last year of high school. The purpose of this thesis was to provide a creative platform to deliver my research into mental health in the Young Adult fiction genre. The accompanying exegesis, Southern Constellations, connects the dots of the creation of Pale Adolescence. It explores the research into mental health, particularly the depiction of depression in fiction, the use of Place and Space in fiction and the most important theme and tone of the book; Friendship and Loneliness. | en_NZ |
