dc.description.abstract | In this exploration of Genre, I will explore the ways in which my screenplay ‘Like what’ resembles past productions and discuss the ways in which it offers a fresh perspective for modern day audiences. In part one I will explain the Genre of the script; ‘Like What’ is a twenty-something coming of age relationship story, set against a backdrop of Social Media. I will also give examples of which it can be compared to, films that focus on relationships going from High-school to college age such as, the 2012 film ‘Perks of being a wallflower’ 1994’s ‘Reality Bites’ and ‘Ingrid goes west’ from 2 017. In the second part of this essay I will explore the specific aspects of ‘Like what’ and and how it fits into the ‘twenty-something coming of age’ genre, with examples of theme, character and key turning points. | en_NZ |
