| dc.description.abstract | Taste is a practice-based research project asking the question “How can the traditional tropes of the slasher-horror genre be reconstructed to support a feminist viewpoint?” Taste explores this question through a gender-swapped exploration of the traditional slasher-horror screen-writing formula that exposes the genre's misogyny and assumptions of female sexuality. The research centres around a short film guided by Judith Butler's theory of Gender Performance, subversion and parody of masculinity. | |
