Abstract

The Saudi Arabian Government has recognised the need for an alternative path to national development in the form of a knowledge-based economy. It is important to understand the socio- technical enablers in knowledge based economy initiative, particularly with regard to the phenomenon of knowledge sharing. A conceptual model developed in the study contains four construct domains: socio-technical enablers; Diffusion of Innovation dimensions; knowledge sharing processes; and organizational innovation capability to examine depicts the relationships between the enablers, processes and outcome constructs within Saudi Arabia firms. From the empirical findings, the study has been able to offer a number of implications, which are beneficial to towards adoption of knowledge base economy seeking to enhance the Saudi organisations
