Abstract

Cloud Business Intelligence (Cloud BI) can provide a competitive advantage to businesses, but it also has implications for data security and privacy. Leakage of sensitive data can cause serious impacts on the credibility of a company and result in financial as well as trust losses. Therefore, it is especially important to discuss the data security and privacy issues of Cloud BI. This study uses a systematic literature review to understand Cloud BI security. The results show that internal and external organisational factors have an impact on Cloud BI privacy. This paper also explored the security issues in cloud computing and found similarities and differences between cloud computing and Cloud BI. The findings of the research have applied and theoretical significance and will help organisations in successfully implementing Cloud BI security with a layered approach, which is discussed in the study.
