This research was born from the author’s personal experience and encounters with different Vietnamese visitors who have visited New Zealand. The country, regarded as “the youngest country on earth”, is known as a new country to many Vietnamese and potentially will attract a large number of Vietnamese travellers in the future. While there are many positive opinions about the country, there are also different negative perspectives. Therefore, it is important to discover the different characteristics of Vietnamese travellers and their evaluation of New Zealand as a destination. Tourism has become the largest contributor to New Zealand economy and has been developing quickly. Research about New Zealand Tourism has been a wide concern in academic studies. However, there is lack of academic studies on New Zealand as a destination experience to international travellers. In this study, a quantitative approach using an online survey is employed to discover visitors’ profiles and their evaluations of the destination. The research is based on expectancy disconfirmation to analyse whether the visitors’ experiences met their expectations. Google doc form, Excel and SPSS were the main data analysis tools for the finding. The results will present different characteristics of Vietnamese visitors and explain their expectations and their satisfaction in both general and specific elements. The findings indicate that Vietnamese have positive perceptions about New Zealand, but there are a few aspects which need to be　improved.
